Loss of a melodious voice

A great gift of God with such an amazing voice named SP Balasubrahmanyam, born on 4 June 1946 in an orthodox family in the Nellore district. In the film industry, SP Balasubranyam is known as Balu or SP. He was from a Telugu family. His father S.P Sambamurthy was an exponent of Hari Katha. Balu's sister is also a singer. Two brothers and five sisters are there in his family.

 From his childhood only he was having a very fond of music. He learned so many instruments in his childhood and wanted to become a great singer but his father wanted him to make an engineer, so he enrolled him in the engineering course in JNTU College in AnantPur, but due to typhoid he joined as an Associate Member of Institution of Engineers in Chennai and he also focused on his music with his studies.

Balu sang for a film on 15 December 1966. More than 40000 songs sung by him in different languages. he has recorded his name in the Guinness Book of World Records.

He understands all the meaning of singing and he has sung by heart. A melodious voice, mastery of style only such type of singers possesses. He was really a hardworking person.

He has sung songs in 10 different languages. In 1964 he won the first price in a music competition organized in Madras. He also provided voice-over, various artists like Kamal Hasan, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Sarja. He has sung songs in so many languages. He has received so many awards, in 1981 he received the Kalaimaamani Award, in 1990 he received the Honorary of Doctorate Award, in 2001 he received the Padma Shri Award, in 2011 he received the Padma Bhushan Award, and he had received 6 National Awards and 25 Nandi Awards. In 2012 he received NTR National Award for his great contribution to the music industry.

He was a very hardworking person and struggled too much in his life. Balu's son is also a playback singer and producer of many films name PV Charan.

On 5 August 2020, he got admitted to MGM Health Care Hospital in Chennai and he was found corona positive, he got recovered from COVID-19 but died on 25 September 2020. According to doctors, he died due to cardio-respiratory arrest. He was 74 years old.

We always remember his melodious voice and we today also sing the songs that were sung by him.
