Significance of Raksha Bandhan

Rakhi hein ayi
khusiya itni layi
bhai behen ke pyar ki pehchan
ek mamoli dhaga na samjo ise
bandha hein jo tumhari kalai par
yaad rakhna apna vada jo tumhe hein nibhana
sukh ho ya dukh sath hamesha nibhana

Rakshabandhan is a beautiful celebration. In 2020 it is on 3 August 2020. It is celebrated all over India. Everybody used to get excited about this festival.
It is a festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters in India in the tradition of Sanatana Dharma, the Hindu tradition, and Raksha Bandhan means the Bond of Protection.
It is where we promise each other that I will support you, protect you, I am there for you to reassure and to strengthen that bond of commitment, so this festival is there to strengthen the bond and to commit you that don't be afraid I am there for you. It comes to both ways i.e sister is there for brother and brother is there for sister.

The festival of Raksha Bandhan has its roots. At the time of Mahabharata, there was an aunt of Krishna named Sutra Devi. She gave birth to a deform child named Shishupala. Elders used to say that Sisupala would be killed by the same person whose touch would bring him back to normality.
One day Krishna came to his aunt's house and Sutra Devi his child to Krishna, his child became handsome. Then Sutra Devi came to know that her child would be killed by Krishna. She requested him not to kill her child, then Krishna said that he would forgive him for his hundred mistakes.
Now Shishupala was a ruler and a friend of Krishna but he was a rude ruler and he tortured the people.
But one-day Shishupala crossed his limits and abused Krishna in front of all the people that was his hundredth mistake then Krishna put his chakra on Shishupala's neck and during this Krishna's finger start bleeding then Dropati was there, she cut her saree piece immediately and tied it over the finger of Krishna. Then Krishna called her as a sister and promised her to help in her trouble. And because of this incidence, Raksha Bandhan is celebrated. And in later time Krishna helped Dropati when Kauravas tried to insult her in front of all the people.
From that time sisters tie rakhi on the wrist of their brothers and brothers promised him to save her from every trouble.
