Guru Purnima

Guru has a very important role in our life. Guru Purnima is also known as Vyas Purnima. 'Gu' means darkness and 'ru' means light. It is celebrated on the full moon day of the bright half of Ashad. It is also celebrated as the birthday of Maharishi Veda Vyas.
And now today on 5 July 2020 there is Guru Purnima.
Gurus and teachers are worshipped and respected. Like Krishna is an example of Jagadguru.
Guru has three roles- To protect and nourish, to teach, and to correct and to guide us.
Krishna has done all three roles for Pandavas.
On this day Lord Gautam Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath. On this day Lord Shiva gave knowledge of yoga to Saptarishi. Several ritual programs were also held on this day.

HAPPY GURU PURNIMA
